SSAB European Graduate Program is for you who are curious, ambitious and ready to take your first steps in to work life and ready for a fast-paced environment and personal development within a company that is taking the lead in a transformation journey that will revolutionize the steel industry.

The SSAB European Graduate Program is a broad program where you will be in contact with the other participants within Europe. The program is for 14 months with a planned start on August-October 2023, full time and with a competitive market salary. During the second half of the program you will be offered a permanent position.

Process engineer

Process engineer / Process developer

This role is close to production where you will contribute to the development of production efficiency and quality by supporting production operations. This role is an important position since you will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing improvement actions and new working methods for production. You will work in close co-operation with several different positions such as process- and product developer, managers, project leaders, operators, etc.

You will need knowledge of Lean-tools, good problem solving skills and good communication skills. In this role you will support transformation of the steel production toward Fossil-free steel production. As a process developer you will participate different kind of development projects like product development projects, technology studies, investment projects or process development projects. Your role will be either a project manager or a technology specialist. We are looking for Process developers in Borlänge, Luleå, Raahe, Hämeenlinna.

Account Manager

Account Manager / Regional Sales Manager

In the major transformation of the steel industry towards Fossil-free steels, this role is an important position since you will be responsible to manage and develop long term business relationship with our customers, what includes a strong technical component, understanding their needs to be able to meet the expectations and strive for affairs that is beneficial for both the customer and SSAB strategy. We are seeking this position in Paris, France and Borlänge, Sweden.

Inside Sales

Inside Sales / Customer Care

In Bröndby, Denmark we are looking for similar profile as Account Manager but with some more administrative skills and interest. You will be working in close cooperation with the account manager to secure a high level service after the order has been placed, also supporting the current customers placing orders when needed. At this role you will be part of local sales team with intensive communication with logistics, finance and with colleagues from Finland and Sweden.

Business developer

Business controller

In this role you would support the production organization and supporting functions with a variety of analyzes and financial support to reach the targets today and tomorrow. Additionally as a Business controller you will be involved in forecasting, monthly reporting, and investment follow ups. As we always strive to continuous improve our processes there will also be a possibility to be part of different development projects concerning finance . The position is placed in Borlänge and Luleå but the role is in the Operations controlling team in Business Unit Sweden which includes support to all production sites in Sweden included in Europe Division. 

Supply planning

Supply planning and supply chain developer

This role will focus on the Supply Chain Development and will be responsible for one or more ongoing projects within Supply Chain and Supply Planning. This will require analyzing current ways of working together with sales organization and the operations planning in the productions to identify needed development actions and to drive those in an efficient and controlled way. This position is placed in Borlänge with focus on the supply planning and supply chain from the Swedish mills.

System specialist

System specialist

We are looking for a team player that is curious and ca dive in to details to join our team to work with process control system development between production and business needs. In this role you will plan and define system improvements together with your colleagues and system vendors that aim to take production flow to next level. You use systematic way to tackle down reoccurring issues and plan the needed changes to achieve smooth production operations. By making production process related data available, you help our production digitalization on their mission to improve data-driven decision-making. This position is placed in Raahe and Hämeenlinna.

Technical Development Manager

In this position you’ll be part of the Sales and Business Development organization and will play an important role in developing SSAB Europe’s position in Premium steels and home market and taking the leadership of the green transformation within the steel industry. You will with your combination of technical knowledge and interest, service minded mindset act as a technical support for sales and customers. You will initiate and execute projects with customer upgrading to Premium products, provide trainings to sales and customers and support customers in terms of design, production and quality.

Position: Borlänge

Education: Bachelor or Masters degree in Engineering or Science

Business Development Analyst 

Among many of the interesting responsibility areas would be to analyze global steel market trends and identify new business opportunities and Use customer insights and market dynamics to identify potential new steel segments, applications, products and process opportunities.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about business development and has a strong analytical mindset. You should have excellent communication skills and be comfortable working in a global and dynamic environment. As a recent graduate, we value your curiosity, eagerness to learn, and ability to adapt to new challenges.

Position can be placed in Raahe, Hämeenlinna or Borlänge

Education: Relevant degree (e.g. Finance, economics, engineering or business)

What kind of profile do you need to apply for the program?

We are seeking for Process engineers, Datascientist, Business developer, Supply chain developer, Account managers and Inside sales. And we hope that you have the interest and/or knowledge in minimum one of the following areas:

  • Generic development and management skills (eg. project management, change management, application management
  • Technology such as process development, product development, data scientist, market development
  • Finance

You should be recently graduated or about to graduate from University with minimum a bachelor degree within a relevant field connected to the position you will apply for.
*Recently graduated: maximum 24 months since graduation.
And also:

  • Solid English skill
  • Solid knowledge in the local language for the location you are applying to
