Beyond the activities related to the program, you will be placed in an actual position and already from the start be introduced to the assignments and tasks related to your position.
Process engineer

Process Engineer / Process Developer

This role is close to production where you will contribute to the development of production efficiency and quality by supporting production operations. This role is an important position since you will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing improvement actions and new working methods for production. You will work in close co-operation with several different positions such as process- and product developer, managers, project leaders, operators, etc.

You will need knowledge of Lean-tools, good problem solving skills and good communication skills. In this role you will support transformation of the steel production toward Fossil-free steel production. As a process developer you will participate different kind of development projects like product development projects, technology studies, investment projects or process development projects. Your role will be either a project manager or a technology specialist. We are looking for Process developers in Borlänge, Luleå, Hämeenlinna.

Account Manager

Account Manager / Regional Sales Manager

In the major transformation of the steel industry towards Fossil-free steels, this role is an important position since you will be responsible to manage and develop long term business relationship with our customers, what includes a strong technical component, understanding their needs to be able to meet the expectations and strive for affairs that is beneficial for both the customer and SSAB strategy. We are seeking this position in Hämeenlinna, Finland and Beuningen, Netherlands.

Inside Sales

Inside Sales / Customer Care

In Brierly Hill, England we are looking for similar profile as Account Manager but with some more administrative skills and interest. You will be working in close cooperation with the account manager to secure a high level service after the order has been placed, also supporting the current customers placing orders when needed. At this role you will be part of local sales team with intensive communication with logistics, finance and with colleagues from Finland and Sweden.

System specialist

Automation Engineer

We are looking for a team player that is curious and can dive in to details to join our team to work with process control system development between production and business needs. In this role you will plan and define system improvements together with your colleagues and system vendors that aim to take production flow to next level. You use systematic way to tackle down reoccurring issues and plan the needed changes to achieve smooth production operations. By making production process related data available, you help our production digitalization on their mission to improve data-driven decision-making. This position is placed in Borlänge, Sweden.

Product Development

Technical Development Manager

In this position you’ll be part of the Sales and Business Development organization and will play an important role in developing SSAB Europe’s position in Premium steels and home market and taking the leadership of the green transformation within the steel industry. You will with your combination of technical knowledge and interest, service minded mindset act as a technical support for sales and customers. You will initiate and execute projects with customer upgrading to Premium products, provide trainings to sales and customers and support customers in terms of design, production and quality.

Position: Borlänge, Sweden, Hämeenlinna or Raahe, Finland

Application Development

Design Specialist

Join our team as a Design Specialist and become an expert in developing high-performing and sustainable products utilizing premium steels. You will play a pivotal role in collaborating with our customers around design concepts that leverage SSAB steels to achieve strength, lightweight, and productivity. Your main responsibilities include design studies, modeling and simulations, material data generation, education, and on-site training for customers. Step into an exciting role where you combine technical expertise and collaboration skills to shape the steel products for the future. Location Borlänge.

Business

Business Development Mobility Manager

In this position you will be a part of the Sales and Business Development organization and will play an important role in contributing to SSAB Europe´s ambitious growth targets within the mobility industry. Some of your key responsibilities will be to work out top OEM and Tier strategy in close cooperation with sales, monitor OEM new model and platform launches, Initiate, coordinate and lead projects and OEM qualifications, capture new trends and technologies, participate in exhibitions and conduct customer seminars and webinars. In your role you will also be heavily involved in our fossil free transition and our Nordic transformation plan. You will work cross functional with our colleagues in Sales, Technical Support, Product Management, Product Development, Knowledge Service Center, Marketing and Business Innovation & Market Intelligence.

Supply Chain Planner / Supply Chain Developer

As a Supply Planner/Supply Chain Developer, you'll be responsible for operational planning tasks and development projects within the Supply Chain, focusing on load planning, material flow management, and process improvement. Collaboration with stakeholders such as sales, production, and IT is key to success.

This role focuses on the production and logistics chains in the Swedish operations within SSAB Europe. We have two positions where one will be located in Hämeenlinna and one in Borlänge.

Energy Engineer

We hope to find an enthusiastic and motivated person to develop into an expert in the energy industry.

In your work assignment, you can work with SSAB's green transition from the perspective of energy issues. Your duties include improving energy efficiency, identifying opportunities offered by the constantly developing energy market, optimizing production flexibility opportunities in the energy market, and developing energy reporting. According to the person, the duties may increase, and the area of responsibility may expand along with the development of the energy sector.

Smart Factory Engineer

Smart Factory Engineer

As a Smart Factory Engineer

You play a key role in strengthening SSAB’s technical development team for tube products and ensuring continuous improvement. Your primary task is to actively contribute to the development of automation and digitalization in line with the company’s values and set goals. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to help our production units transition to a modern smart factory model that will help us achieve better production efficiency, stability, product quality and safety. Your ability to network with your key partners in factories and support functions provides a strong foundation for successful collaboration. Location: Hämeenlinna.

Project manager

Project Manager

As a project manager at SSAB, you will work with leading projects in various technical areas related to our production facilities. These are often projects in the technical areas of mechanics or electrical and automation technology.

You will be part of a dedicated and technically knowledgeable team that, in close cooperation with production and maintenance, both improves existing production facilities and invests in new equipment and machines. The assignments include project management of preliminary studies, implementation and commissioning of equipment. You are responsible for ensuring that project objectives are met while keeping to schedules and financial frameworks. Location: Borlänge

What kind of profile do you need to apply for the program?

We hope that you have the interest or knowledge in minimum one of the following areas:

  • Generic development and management skills (eg. project management, change management, application management
  • Technology such as process development, product development, data scientist, market development

You should be recently graduated or about to graduate from University with minimum a bachelor degree within a relevant field connected to the position you will apply for.
*Recently graduated: maximum 24 months since graduation.

And also:

  • Solid English skill
  • Solid knowledge in the local language for the location you are applying to
