General Product Description

SSAB AM Tough is a gas atomized advanced high strength steel powder for additive manufacturing. SSAB AM Tough is in particular suited in L-PBF (Laser-Powder Bed Fusion) and DED or LMD (Direct Energy Deposition or Laser Metal Deposition).

SSAB AM Tough is targeted towards additive manufacturing of high strength engineering components, heavy machinery, automotive and energy sector where toughness is the most desired property.

SSAB AM Tough is available on request as fossil-free steel powder.

Delivery Conditions

Standard package size for SSAB AM powder is 10 kg, including silica gel bag. Other package sizes are available up on agreement.

Fossil-free steel

The steel in this product is a proof of concept and pilot delivery of the fossil-free steel SSAB is developing. By using hydrogen reduced sponge iron, SSAB has removed the primary source of CO2 emissions in the steelmaking, emitting water instead of carbon dioxide. Discover more at www.ssab.com.
