Young geotechnical designers value the traditional SSAB Infra - Ramboll Day

February 11, 2020 12:26 CET

SSAB organized traditional co-operation day with Ramboll geotechnical department on September 10th in Finland. This year there was 20th anniversary since the event was organized for the first time already in 1999.

During the day SSAB and Ramboll held presentations about current topics and recent projects from designer’s and steel piles supplier’s point of view. Active discussion during the day resulted in growing understanding of common challenges and joint possibilities within the field of foundation engineering. “During the past 20 years, SSAB and Ramboll have commissioned several mutual research projects on the use of steel piles. Moreover SSAB’s technical support to Ramboll designers is common practice and smooth nowadays”, says Antti Perälä, Technology Manager, SSAB.

There were many young designers attending the event for the first time. We were grateful for the feedback we received from the young designers that they appreciate the continuum of the event. Thanks to the diversity of the audience the discussion was fruitful and forward-looking.
