During last three seasons, starting from September 2016, SSAB Poland and Ruukki Polska have actively supported the program and participated in numerous workshops, seminars and competitions being a part of the „Builder for the Young Architects” subprogram addressed to students of architecture and civil construction faculties, as well as young architects and civil engineers.

A fact that almost 10,000 people took part in the „Builder for the Future” program clearly confirms that a concept of comprehensive and factual support from professionals representing not only scientific environment but also modern business turned out to be successful. SSAB’s specialists participating in this project held many meetings with young people during national educational workshops called Young Architects’ Days or regional seminars at the technical universities all over Poland.

The main goal of SSAB was to educate future architects and engineers in the field of innovative building materials such as color coated GreenCoat® steels, weathering COR-TEN® steels or energy panels Ruukki® Energy. Such a selection of materials introduced to students and young professionals was not coincidental – SSAB Group companies are focused on environment-friendly, sustainable solutions enabling energy and resource efficient construction.

The above mentioned solutions based on SSAB’s steels were among products made available in different competitions organized for the participants. Thus the authors of competition designs could learn more about SSAB’s products and their advantages while working on their assignments. Specialists from SSAB and Ruukki were ready to answer any questions or provide additional information. For the purpose of competitions we also had special subpages at our websites, both at ssab.pl and ruukki.pl, containing full technical data related to our solutions.

SSAB Poland evaluates very positively its participation in the Builder’s initiative. As a strategic partner, we had a chance to join many meetings and discussions with future and beginning architects, to motivate them and support their creativity and further professional growth. Interest shown in SSAB’s solutions ensures us that sustainable construction becomes nowadays an increasingly more important trend in architecture.
