Combi wall

Retaining wall structures based on steel piles

Retaining wall structures based on steel piles are often the best solution to replace traditional, labor-intensive cast-in-place based retaining wall structures.

RR® large diameter piles can be built into a continuous combi wall by welding interlocking sections or complete sheet piles into them. In a combi wall, piles act as the load-bearing structure, while sheet piles installed in between make the wall continuous.

Thanks to SSAB’s high-grade steel, our combi walls have excellent bending stiffness and resistance.

Applications:

  • Retaining wall structures
  • Building foundations
  • Wharves and piers
  • Road and railway structures
  • Bridges
