Ruukki offers steel-based construction products and services for sustainable buildings. The new production line in Oborniki complements the company's current offering of wall and roof structures by enabling the provision of more advanced mineral wool sandwich panels, especially for customers operating in Poland, Central Eastern Europe and the Baltics.

“This is an important step in implementing our strategy. We aim to grow sustainably together with our customers. The investment will help us improve our customer service by streamlining production and tailoring our offering to better meet the special needs of customers in the region, says Adam Korol, Senior Vice President, Building Envelopes, Ruukki Construction.

“The new state-of-the-art production line with automated features will help us improve the efficiency and safety of our operations. We are confident that customers will be impressed by the improved thermal properties, higher fire-resistance and mechanical strength of the more innovative sandwich panels produced on the new line,” says Łukasz Zakrzewski, plant manage of Oborniki plant, Ruukki.

Ruukki’s Oborniki plant is located some 40 kilometres from Poznan and employs roughly 200 people. The plant produces sandwich panels that are used in the external and internal walls and ceilings of warehouses, logistics centers, production plants, offices and shopping centres. Sandwich panels with either a mineral wool or PIR (polyisocyanurate) core ensure a durable, airtight and energy-efficient envelope for all types of buildings. In addition to Oborniki, Ruukki produces sandwich panels in Alajärvi, Finland.

The project has been co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund as a part of Smart Growth Operational Program 2014-2020.
