SSAB engages in new Swedish sustainability initiative
May 22, 2018 10:45 CEST 6 min read
SSAB is one of the main participants in a new Swedish corporate initiative regarding circular material flows. The initiative, called Circular Sweden, is a forum consisting of several large Swedish companies and organizations such as Axfood, H&M, IKEA, NCC, Tarkett and Återvinningsindustrierna. The ambition is to collectively and actively contribute to a more sustainable society, in Sweden and internationally, by increasing the circulation share of materials and products.
“Steel is the world´s most circulated material, with a very high recycling rate, and it is important for us to contribute to a more resource efficient and sustainable future,” comments Thomas Hörnfeldt, VP Sustainability and Public affairs at SSAB.
The target for Circular Sweden is to make Sweden the leading country regarding circular material flows by 2030. The forum will work on many different levels in close dialogue with stakeholders within both politics, science and business. Please read more about Circular Sweden in the press release about the forum, and on Circular Sweden’s website.
