Reach above and beyond with high-strength Strenx® tubes

Strenx® Tubes are cold formed and welded structural hollow sections with minimum yield strengths of 700 MPa. They come in an extensive range of sizes and wall thicknesses. Use Strenx® Tubes in load-bearing structures to build stronger products that weigh less or to replace mild steel grades. And when you use Strenx®, you’ll get dimensionally consistent, workshop-friendly steel too.

Welding

Strenx® tubes can be welded using any conventional welding method. MAG welding is the most common technique today, since it is very easy to automate for high productivity

Machining

Strenx® tubes can usually be machined without special equipment. Stable machinery fitted with high-speed steel and carbide tools is recommended when drilling, countersinking, tapping, and milling.Download machining brochure

Thermal cutting

The properties and fine surface finish of Strenx® tubes make it perfect for laser cutting. Thermal cutting of Strenx® tubes is also possible with oxy-fuel flame and plasma. Since tubes are cold formed, they contain residual stresses. Proper design can control distortion when cutting. If distortion becomes a problem the tubes can be stress relief annealed.

Mechanical cutting

Strenx® Tubes can sawed with normal practices Compared to mild steels tubes, saw blade wear can be lower, as the low carbon equivalent prevents the longitudinal weld seam from hardening in the welding process.

Strenx® guarantees

Strenx® Tubes and Sections meet or exceed the tolerances of European standards: EN10219 for cold formed welded steel structural hollow sections and EN10210 for hot finished steel structural hollow sections.
