    General Product Description

    SSAB’s toughest, ultra-hard protection plate.

    Armox® Advance is SSAB’s toughest appliqué (add-on) protection plate for use where component weight reduction is essential. It is available in thicknesses between 0.157" and 0.311", and not intended for further heat treatment.

        Mechanical Testing

        Brinell hardness test according to EN ISO 6506-1 on each heat treatment individual.

        Charpy impact test according to EN ISO 148 on each heat and thickness from 0.236".

        Tensile test according to EN ISO 6892 on each heat and thickness under 0.783".

        Ultrasonic testing

        According to EN 10160 Class E3S3 for thicknesses up to 3.149" and E1S2 for > 3.149".

                Tolerances according to Armox® Thickness Guarantees.

                Armox® Guarantees meet the requirements of EN 10029 Class C, but offers narrower tolerances.

                Length and Width

                Tolerances conform to EN 10029 or to SSAB´s standard after agreement.

                Dimensional tolerances for plate with mill edge according to special agreement. 

                Shape

                Tolerances according to EN 10029.

                Flatness

                Flatness tolerance for thicknesses between 0.157 – 0.272" are according to Armox® flatness guarantee, which are more restrictive than EN 10029 Class N (steel type L). For thicknesses between 0.276 – 0.311", the maximum accepted flatness deviation is 0.315"  per 39.370".

                Surface Properties

                According to EN 10163-2 Class B Subclass 3.

                Delivery Conditions

                The delivery condition is Q (Quenched).
