Strenx® 700 E/F high-strength structural steel

Strenx® 700 E/F is a high-strength structural steel with a minimum yield strength of 650-700 MPa depending on thickness. The steel offers superior bendability, surface quality and weldability with excellent HAZ strength and toughness. The exceptional consistency within a plate is guaranteed by close tolerances and high impact toughness provides for good resistance to fractures. Strenx® 700 E meet or exceed the requirements of the standard EN 10025-6 where Strenx® 700 E conforms to grade S690QL and Strenx® 700 F conforms to grade S690QL1. Typical applications include demanding load-bearing structures.

                  Delivery Conditions

The delivery condition is Quenched and Tempered. The plates are delivered with sheared or thermally cut edges. Untrimmed edges after agreement.

Delivery requirements can be found in SSAB’s brochure Strenx® Guarantees or on www.ssab.com.

                  Fabrication and Other Recommendations

                  Welding, bending and machining

Recommendations are found in SSAB’s brochures at www.ssab.com or consult Tech Support.

Strenx® 700 E/F has bending guarantees according to Strenx® Bending Guarantees Class A. Strenx® 700 E/F has obtained its mechanical properties by quenching and subsequent tempering. The properties of the delivery condition cannot be retained after exposure to temperatures in excess of 1076ºF.

Appropriate health and safety precautions must be taken when welding, cutting, grinding or otherwise working on this product. Grinding, especially of primer coated plates, may produce dust with a high particle concentration.

                  Ready to upgrade?

Upgrading from Strenx® 700 E/F to Strenx® 900 E/F means you can improve the performance and reduce the weight of your equipment. The increase in yield strength by almost 30% allows for a substantial increase in the equipment’s load-bearing capacity.
