General Product Description

Lloyd’s Register Grades A, B, D, and E are normal-strength structural steels with a minimum specified yield strength of 34 ksi and specified minimum Charpy V-notch impact toughness properties.

Applications

Typical applications include ships and other structural applications.

            Comparison

              1) Tests are to be taken in the longitudinal direction. Normally, transverse test specimens are not required unless otherwise specified in the order. Generally, impact tests are not required when material thickness is less than 0.236 in.

              No more than one value below the specified minimum average energy but no less than 70% of the specified minimum average energy value.

              Minimum average energy for full-size specimens. Refer to Lloyd’s Register Rules for sub-size specimen energy requirements.
