General Product Description

Laminate FoodSafe from SSAB is available in white colors with a low gloss smooth surface, but can also be supplied with enhanced antistatic properties to minimize the contamination from airborne particles like dust.

Laminate FoodSafe has typically a metal coated steel substrate with primer, adhesive and PVC-laminate on top side. Each layer is optimized for performance and processing benefits.

Laminate FoodSafe offers excellent formability for a wide range of applications including walls, ceilings, doors in cold rooms and deep freezers, as well as refrigerated counters, institutional kitchens and production premises.

Laminate FoodSafe is a highly durable and wear resistant laminated steel product that is resistant to chemicals and detergents which makes it easy to clean. It is non-toxic and suitable for direct contact with food and fully complies with current EU regulations (EU) No 10/2011, REACH regulations and is fully free of chromates.

The reverse side of the sheet is painted with a two-layer grey backside coating.

SSAB’s color coated steels are all manufactured according to EN 10169.

Reverse Side Coating

Unless otherwise specified, the reverse side of the sheet is painted with a two-layer coating to further improve the corrosion resistance of the end product. The coating provides good adhesion properties to many adhesives and foams; nevertheless the compatibility needs to be tested case-specifically.

For easy material identification the reverse side of the sheet is stamped with the SSAB logo and the product name. The production date is marked to ease material traceability and can be referred to within the guarantee period. An arrow shows the direction of production to ensure installation in a uniform direction.
