PART 1: EPD – An important tool in sustainability work

EPD stands for Environmental Product Declaration and is a third-party reviewed document that provides transparent and comparable information on products' environmental impact in a life cycle perspective. All emissions are reported up until the product is ready to be delivered. This makes it easy for you as a customer to get a total emission value for each product you make.

The webinar will, among other things, answer the following questions:

  • What are EPDs and what are they used for?
  • What do EPDs from SSAB contain?
  • Where do you turn if you want to take part in SSAB's EPDs?
  • Why is SSAB already today classified as one of the steel producers with the lowest environmental impact in international comparisons?

PART 2: EPDs for Tubular products from SSAB

SSAB presents the environmental impacts of Tubular products in several declarations dedicated for specific product groups. Life cycle analysis include environmental impacts from SSAB’s tube mills in Finland. In this webinar we will give examples how EPDs can be utilized.

The webinar will present following EPDs:

  • Structural hollow sections
  • Steel piles
  • Pressure pipes
  • Open sections
  • Precision tubes
  • Safety barriers

PART 3: First in fossil free steel

Together with partners and customers, SSAB aims to create a fossil-free value chain, from the mine to the end product. With the help of revolutionary HYBRIT technology, SSAB will be the first steel company in the world to supply fossil-free steel to the market as early as 2026.

The webinar will, among other things, answer the following questions:

  • Why SSAB is converting to fossil free steel
  • What is Hybrit technology?
  • How can companies benefit from using fossil-free steel?
  • What can companies that use steel do today to reduce the CO2 footprint of their products?
