Digital Product Passport (DPP)

Access to all product information in seconds by scanning the QR code

You have just scanned a Digital Product Passport (DPP) QR code on a product from SSAB. At the moment, this product has not been connected to the product passport database. SSAB introduces the product passports during 2026 and onwards.

What is the Digital Product Passport (DPP)?

A Digital Product Passport (DPP) is a QR Code providing access to key information about a physical product throughout its lifecycle.

By scanning the QR code, customers and stakeholders can access product-related data such as material information, product specifications, sustainability data, certifications, and other relevant documentation.

The Digital Product Passport is part of the EU’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) aiming for a more transparent, circular, and sustainable value chain.

Where can I find the QR code?

The QR code is placed directly on our steel product, packaging, or accompanying documentation, depending on the product type. The code is designed to provide quick and easy access to product information whenever and wherever it is needed.

What is the purpose of the Digital Product Passport?

The Digital Product Passport makes product information easier to access, share, and verify. This standardized digital information helps you better understand our product's origin, lifecycle, and sustainability-related data.

The Digital Product Passport provides transparency, improves traceability, and supports circular economy practices such as reuse and recycling.

How do I scan the QR code?

Scanning the QR code is simple:

  1. Open the camera app on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Point the camera towards the QR code.
  3. Tap the notification or link that appears on your screen.
