SSAB Docol® automotive tubes are designed for vehicle safety systems as well as structural components in car bodies and chassis. From high-performance racing cars to passenger cars and other vehicles, manufacturers rely on Docol steel tubes for strength, reliability and performance.

Availability of SSAB Docol® automotive tubes

SSAB Docol automotive tubes are available in circular, square and rectangular shapes. Also, different kinds of special shapes are possible. With tensile strengths ranging from 490 MPa to 980 MPa, these tubes deliver outstanding structural performance without requiring additional hardening processes.

SSAB Docol automotive tubes are typically produced from cold-rolled steel and offered with several coating options, including zinc (GI), Galfan® (ZA) and galvannealed (GA). The longitudinally welded tubes are manufactured in accordance with EN 10305-3 and meet the more demanding CR2+ elongation values and strict chemical composition requirements. When applicable for the automotive industry, SSAB Docol automotive tubes also meet the requirements of VDA 239-100.

Thanks to tight dimensional tolerances, highly consistent mechanical properties and excellent surface quality, SSAB Docol automotive tubes have become a preferred choice for manufacturers of vehicle frames and structural components. Docol delivers the strength, precision and reliability required for the next generation of safe, high-performance vehicles.
