SSAB’s sustainability work is evaluated by external parties. Below you can find examples of sustainability assessments and ratings.

EcoVadis

EcoVadis provides globally recognized sustainability ratings that help companies reduce risk and create positive impacts. The assessment evaluates how effectively a company has integrated sustainability principles into its business and management systems.

In 2025, SSAB was awarded the sustainability rating gold-level in the EcoVadis sustainability portal. This means that SSAB is among the top 5% of 150,000+ companies worldwide regarding sustainability and transparency.

MSCI and Sustainalytics

SSAB also has ESG ratings from MSCI and Sustainalytics, which assess sustainability risk. SSAB has an AA/Leader rating from MSCI, indicating industry leadership in managing key sustainability risks and opportunities. According to Sustainalytics, SSAB is assessed as having medium risk exposure and strong ESG risk management performance.

UN Global Compact

SSAB is a signatory to the UN Global Compact and supports its ten principles regarding human rights, labor standards, environment, and anti-corruption. Examples of these principles include conducting human rights due diligence, fostering a non-discriminatory and safe workplace, investing in low-carbon technologies, and enforcing clear policies that prevent bribery and other unethical business practices.
