One person killed in a workplace accident at SSAB in Luleå

On Wednesday afternoon, a workplace accident occurred at SSAB’s plant in Luleå. The accident occurred in connection with the inspection of an overhead crane. The Emergency Rescue and Fire Service was called out to the site and, after intensive work, it was established that one person had died. 

“It is with great sadness that we are announcing that one of our employees died today in a workplace accident. Our thoughts go out first and foremost to the deceased’s family. We are treating this extremely seriously,” says production and site manager Nils Edberg at SSAB in Luleå

SSAB is now cooperating with the police in order to investigate how the accident happened. At 10am tomorrow, April 28, a press conference will be held together with the police at SSAB in Luleå.
