New Presidents for SSAB´s Steel Operations

New Presidents for SSAB´s Steel Operations Anders Werme has been appointed President for SSAB Tunnplåt. Anders Werme is at present President of SSAB Oxelösund and he will succeed Curt Johansson who retires. Bengt Nilsson, today President of Uddeholm Tooling, has been appointed President for SSAB Oxelösund. Both Anders Werme and Bengt Nilsson will assume their positions in spring 2004. Anders Werme, born in 1956, is PhD graduated from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. In 1994 he was appointed Project Manager for the construction of a new 4-high rolling mill at SSAB Oxelösund. This rolling mill is a very important part of SSAB Oxelösund´s development of high-strength niche products. After that he was in charge of SSAB Oxelösund´s sales organization in the Far East before he was appointed President in 2000. Bengt Nilsson, born in 1961, is technical physicist graduated from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He was Production Manager for the tube division at Ovako Steel when he in 1998 was appointed Production Manager at Uddeholm Tooling. In 1999 he was appointed President for Uddeholm Tooling. - I am very pleased that Anders Werme and Bengt Nilsson have accepted to take over the responsibility for the two steel producing companies within the SSAB Group, says Anders Ullberg, President and CEO of the SSAB Group, in his comment on the appointments. With their backgrounds both of them have excellent qualifications to succeed in securing and continuing the niche orientation towards our most high- strength products both within strip steel and heavy plate.
