Anders Ullberg, new President of SSAB The Board of Directors of SSAB has appointed Anders Ullberg as the new President and CEO. Anders Ullberg commenced employment at SSAB as Chief Financial Officer in 1984, became Vice President in 1988, and has been acting President since 26 October last year when, for health reasons, Torsten Sandin resigned as President and CEO. - The Board of Directors discussed various internal and external candidates, says Leif Gustafsson, the Chairman of the Board of Directors in a comment on the appointment. We have chosen Anders Ullberg because we are convinced that, with his deep knowledge of SSAB and the steel industry, he is the correct person to lead the Group's ongoing transformation into a specialist steel supplier within the commercial steel sector. - Naturally, I am very pleased with the confidence that the Board of Directors has demonstrated in me, says Anders Ullberg. I have had the benefit of working together with both Leif Gustafsson and Torsten Sandin during a period in which SSAB has undergone a radical transformation and in which we have laid the foundations for the current niche-oriented strategy. - The investments we have carried out in recent years have created the possibilities for continued strong growth within our niche products of high strength sheet and quenched steels within the plate area. Together with our customers, we will continue to develop the added value for which our high strength steels provide the necessary conditions. It is extremely stimulating to assume responsibility for the realisation of these possibilities, concludes Anders Ullberg. ------------------------------------------------------------ This information was brought to you by BIT The following files are available for download:
