Worldsteel Safety Day 2017: Martin Lindqvist talks about safety and SSAB´s ambition of becoming the safest steel company in the world with zero accidents.
SSAB is granted SEK 1.45 billion in the framework of the Just Transition Fund, an EU fund that in Sweden includes support to the transition of the steel industry in Norrbotten. The funding will contribute to the transformation to fossil-free steel production of SSAB’s operations in Luleå, a technology shift that will significantly reduce Sweden’s carbon dioxide emissions.
SSAB:lle myönnetään 1,45 miljardia Ruotsin kruunua EU:n Oikeudenmukaisen siirtymän rahaston viitekehyksessä. Rahaston yksi käyttökohde Ruotsissa on Norrbottenin alueen terästeollisuuden siirtymä. Rahoituksella halutaan edistää SSAB:n Luulajassa sijaitsevan terästehtaan siirtymistä fossiilivapaaseen teräksentuotantoon, mikä vähentää merkittävästi Ruotsin hiilidioksidipäästöjä.
Chuck Schmitt, Head of SSAB Americas, has announced that he will retire in the summer of 2025. A recruitment process to find his successor will begin shortly.
