Forestry puts equipment under constant pressure. Machines must handle high forces and unpredictable loads over years of hard use. And they need to do it while being as light as possible.
For Tajfun, it’s a challenge they’ve been working on for decades. The Slovenian manufacturer develops equipment for demanding applications, with forestry at the core of its business. The forces acting on forestry equipment are hard to predict.

Tajfun's experience with Strenx® began with a practical problem. Several years ago, the company experienced cracking in a highly loaded frame area on one of its machines. The challenge required a reliable solution, but redesigning the entire structure would have required significant time and resources.
Instead, Tajfun replaced the conventional steel with Strenx®. The result surprised them. The structural issue was resolved without changing the frame design.
That experience changed how Tajfun approached product development. Rather than treating steel as a standard material choice, the company began using high-strength steel as an engineering tool — one that could optimize structures, improve durability and enable lighter designs.

Today, Strenx® is integrated throughout Tajfun's certified forestry equipment. The company uses Strenx® in highly loaded structural areas, fatigue-sensitive components and parts exposed to demanding operational forces. The majority of the load-bearing structures in both logging winches and forestry cranes are manufactured using Strenx® high-strength structural steel, including Strenx® 700MC and Strenx® 700 MCE. In wear-exposed components, Tajfun complements the structure with Hardox® wear plate. This combination allows engineers to place strength where it is needed most while maintaining an optimized structural design.
Designing with high-strength steel makes it possible to reduce weight without sacrificing performance.
