NovosibARZ was founded in 1968 in Novosibirsk, Siberia, when it was part of the former Soviet Union. Back then, the plant functioned as a repair workshop but, in the early 2000s, it started producing timber semitrailers. Fast-forward to today, and NovosibARZ is the market leader in the manufacture of timber transport solutions in Siberia and the Far East of Russia, developing and producing trailers and semitrailers for this demanding industry.
NovosibARZ is a certified bodybuilder for the Man, Scania and Volvo brands.
In January 2017, it replaced the 10HSND Russian steel it had previously used for the timber bars on its semitrailers, and the frames and timber bars on its trailers with Strenx™ 700 from SSAB and the My Inner Strenx certification proofs that the timber stakes has been reviewed and approved according to strict welding and design criterias.
“Today, we use Strenx™ performance steel for frames and timber bars and for producing superstructures for the Man, Volvo and Scania chassis,” says Vadim Ananchenko, CEO of NovosibARZ.
He adds that the main reason for this switch was the significant improvement in strength and durability offered by Strenx™ 700 compared with the previous steel. This has resulted in an extended product lifetime by up to 25 percent. In addition, Strenx™ 700 is also a lightweight material, enabling NovosibARZ to make its timber bars extra-thin and light.
“NovosibARZ trailers operate in some of the harshest conditions on the planet,” continues Natalia Ananchenko, CFO of NovosibARZ. “If an application is going to function efficiently and effectively in places where there is often a complete absence of roads, where temperatures may reach minus 50 degrees Celsius in wintertime, and where it may be required to transport forestry products more than 300 kilometers at a time, is needs to be made of robust material.”
“This is why we at NovosibARZ has decided to use SSAB, Strenx™ performance steel for some of our most demanding applications,” concludes Ananchenko.
Founded in 1968 in Novosibirsk in the former Soviet Union, NovosibARZ started out as a repair workshop. In the early 2000s, the company started manufacturing semitrailers and trailers for timber transports. Today it is the market leader in its segment in Siberia and the Russian Far East, with a turnover of EUR 12 million and some 156 employees, in 2017.
About the application
NovosibARZ uses Strenx™ 700 high-strength structural steel for the timber bars on its semitrailers, and for the frames and timber bars on its trailers. NovosibARZ’s products are designed to operate in particularly harsh climatic conditions, which is why Strenx™ 700, with its superior robustness and durability, is the ideal material choice for these applications.
