SSAB Europe’s Business Unit Finland is to initiate change negotiations in Raahe because of continued weak demand. The target is to structurally reduce the fixed costs by at least EUR 10 million on an annual basis. The negotiations will discuss alternatives to increase flexibility in operations and adjust to weakened demand, while taking account of future needs.
SSAB is participating in several events in conjunction with Climate Week NYC in the City of New York, United States, to contribute to the discussion on how to increase and accelerate the ambition, to scale up and roll out new climate technologies. Governments and policymakers should focus on creating markets for near zero emission materials and products as well as securing a level playing field.
