Work environment and safety work

The Group’s overall goal is that no-one should be exposed to accidents, injury or work-related sickness, whether as employee, contractor or visitor.  At the Group’s workplaces, we work to ensure that employees’ health is maintained and/or strengthened.
 
The SSAB Group systematically engages in work environment and safety matters by investigating and following up the operations.
 
It is the duty and responsibility of every employee to work in such a manner as to promote a safe, secure and healthy working environment.  Everyone should act as a good model for everyone else and contribute to creating safe and health-promoting behaviour.
At the workplaces we engage in, among other things:
  • involving managers, employees and contractors in work environment and safety work
  • establishing goals and plans of action for health and work environment
  • clarifying to all employees their work duties and responsibilities with respect to their own safety and that of work colleagues and contractors
  • promoting and supporting safe behaviour, good health and wellbeing
