Göran Hügard“Everyone in SSAB should be proud” said Göran Hügard, the father of Swedish Steel Prize. “This confirms the Steel Prize position as the world leader. It is good for the company, once a year this happy event creates a positive image with the bonus effect to build lasting relationships with our customers.”

Göran and his team envisaged the Swedish Steel Prize to position SSAB as the World Leader and give a positive input to the steel industry in the niche market of high strength steel. The vision for creating the event was to distinguish and upgrade the corporate identity from a basic steel provider to that of a high strength steel giant.

In the beginning it was mostly Nordic countries that participated but nowadays it is an internationally recognized prize and event. The quality of entries has improved over the years making competing more intense. The raised standards have produced creative designs that benefit our industry and clients making for an interesting Swedish Steel Prize 2011.

The team is excited about this year’s record attendance and knows that it adds great value to the company and the industry as a whole.

“Swedish Steel Prize creates a life time memory for everyone nominated and especially the winner”, Göran stated.
