Founded in 2002, Real Steel specializes in supply of high strength and wear resistant steels as well as quality wear parts and components such as cutting edges, G.E.T’s, grader blades, buckets and other casted wear products for the mining, quarrying, cement, forestry, agriculture, road transport and general engineering industries.
More than 5 years ago, Real Steel started to collaborate with SSAB and manufactured wear parts made from Hardox Wear Plate.
“Before we purchased various materials from local suppliers who sourced from different steel mills, we have to always change our workshop procedure due to different properties of the different brands, and some of them even can’t be used to produce our parts,” says Luke Mathieson, Managing Director of Real Steel, “while Hardox is much more easier to be processed in the workshop thanks to its consistent standard and quality.”
Based on the good collaboration experience with SSAB and to further obtaining technical expertise, Real Steel applied for the program of Hardox Wearparts in 2011 and was successfully authorized the membership in July this year.

Joining the Hardox Wearparts network giving us huge confident to extend the ranges of our wear parts and solutions as we will receive great technical support from SSAB and share the valuable knowledge among the network to develop our new products and applications,” says Mathieson, “in addition, we are able to access to the great application tools such as WearCalc which helps us to design wear solutions to perform for our customers.”
More than the quality wear products, with the fully equipped workshop and mobile service facilities, Real Steel is also able to provide with a full range of repair and on-site engineering services, which focus on wear applications and the aftermarket. Their skilled and experienced team offers advice to their customers on the best processing and wear design for a variety of wear media and various applications.
