SSAB was first in the world to introduce a comprehensive precision guarantee on the thickness of heavy plate - AccuRollTechTM. This is possible thanks to our super modern four high rolling mill in Oxelösund.
All types and gauges of steel are produced with AccuRollTech which gives opportunity to order plate with 0.1 mm intervals. AccuRollTech guarantees world class thickness precision and precision for the difficult combination of thin and wide steel plate.
Even thickness tolerances reduce your safety margins
Even the smallest deviations in weight between different plates are costly and if the weight is hard to estimate, you are forced to increase your safety margins. Since we got the narrowest thickness tolerances in the market, you can easily estimate the weight of the plates. And as a result you can reduce your safety margins.
The trick is as simple as it is hard to copy. SSAB manufactures the plate in the most modern rolling-mill in the world. Computers are, for instance, checking the thickness of the plate more than 100 times each second during every roll out. Our narrow thickness tolerances basically make it easier for you to use the steel in a more financially viable way.
