Corrosion resistant steels
Domex 350W and 550W are high strength and extra high strength respectively, corrosion resistant steels. They are characterised by good formability, impact toughness and weldability. Corrosion resistance is imparted by the formation of a dense, uniform oxide layer after a couple of years in-situ.
Domex 350W is available in coil thicknesses from 3.00 mm to 12.00 mm and Domex 550W in coil thicknesses from 3.00 mm to 6.00 mm. Maximum width is 1600 mm. Sheets with a length between 1500 and 13000 mm can be supplied. Typical applications include bridges, industrial chimney stacks and containers.
Deep drawing steels
Domex 200 is a hot rolled drawing sheet possessing excellent forming properties which can be used for stretch forming and deep drawing. Available in thicknesses between 2.00 mm and 16.00 mm with a maximum width of 1600 mm. The lean analysis of this steel enables all conventional manufacturing and welding techniques to be used without difficulty. Typical applications include brackets, ball bearing cages and drawn cylinders.
Domex Pole Sheet
Domex Pole Sheet is a steel with good magnetic properties, a low content of alloying elements and is perfect for making rotor rings and the poles of generators. Its consistent mechanical properties and good flatness make the sheet steel very well suited for automatic punching and laser cutting. Hot-rolled Pole sheet is produced with yield strengths of up to 700 N/mm2. Thickness of 2-5 mm. Widths ranging from 800-1600 mm, depending on yield strength and thickness.
Domex Protect - safety protection applications
Our Domex Protect range of steels, in combination with fibre material, i.e. Aramid or Kevlar is intended for use in cash in transit vehicles, armoured personnel carriers and other ballistic protection applications. Use of thinner materials is important when considering the reduction of overall weight.
Domex Protect is currently available in hardness of 300HB and 500HB and in a thickness range of 2.00 - 8.2 mm. Our cold reduced version, Docol Protect is available in a 450 HV hardness and the minimum thickness is currently 1.00 mm.
