– We have decided to donate the 100,000 SKR award to Björn Söderberg, and his ongoing projects in Nepal, announced Jean Bourgeois, CEO of Labrie Environmental Group and got standing ovations from an audience, moved to tears.
– After having heard Björn Söderberg speak earlier today we strongly believe that he can use this award to make a big difference to a lot of people in a poor country, said Jean Bourgeois.
Björn Söderberg was touched:
– It is hard to believe that things like this can happen. But I must admit that I did experience that the audience today really did respond to my message.
Björn Söderberg expressed his feelings and gratitude after receiving the donation from Labrie Environmental Group. One of the companies in Nepal only employs women. The idea is to breach the old oppressive structures and create status jobs for women.
