This year the Swedish Steel Prize was awarded for the eleventh consecutive year.

Swedish Steel Prize Inspiration Seminars and Awards Ceremony took place at the China Theatre in Stockholm on November 18, 2009. The day before that, Experience High Strength Steel Days was arranged in Borlänge and Oxelösund. Over 500 people took part in the seminar and 300 in the dinner.

What’s happening with the Swedish Steel Prize this year?
- Several things. The most important change is that it is now an SSAB activity.

Does this mean that the event has a new structure?
- In part. We’ve analyzed what works well and what works less well and have reached the conclusion that both Experience High Strength Steel Day and Inspiration Seminars are extremely strong. The new feature is that the prize will be awarded during the day in connection with the seminar, and not in connection with the dinner in the evening, as previously.

How do you, as someone who has worked with the Swedish Steel Prize for ten years, feel about it being a Group activity?
- Very good. It’s incredibly exciting to get the chance to take part and develop the Swedish Steel Prize. It’s one of SSAB's most important customer activities. It creates unique shared experiences for our customers and for us at SSAB, which is important for long-term relations.
