Anything from a relatively simple new product that has proved to be of great value to an individual company, right up to complicated structures and methods of major importance to an entire industry can be entered for the Swedish Steel Prize.
The prize can also be won by anyone who has substantially developed or improved an existing product or method. To qualify for entry, a product must be in production or be available as a prototype. It must be suitable for serial production.
A method may be entered only if it facilitates the use or working of high-strength steel, or broadens the field of application of the material. It must be tested and documented for use in serial production.
A jury appointed by SSAB will nominate a number of the entrants, and will decide on the final winner. If your entry is not nominated this year, it will automatically be entered for next year's competition.
