Cathrine Tholander, fill-in coordinator for planning
Why did you choose to work at SSAB?
“I applied to SSAB because it’s a large workplace with more positions than I would have time to try before retirement. Shift work was a big bonus because I was working during the day and was constantly tired.”
What is your educational background?
“I graduated from four-year technical upper secondary school, and then all the training I received at SSAB.”
What do you think of your development at SSAB so far?
“I started directing activities at Hardox in 2001, a job with a fast pace that includes running the label station, grinder, and cranes. After five years I switched jobs and learned to operate the furnaces at Brannäs. In the summer of 2008 I worked on a project as an operations technician and switched to working the day shift. Now I’ve trained to fill in as coordinator for planning, which means that I fill in when the regular coordinator is on leave or sick.”

How do you see your future at SSAB?
“I hope to be able to keep working and learn new things and get a chance for new assignments. Sometimes things move fast, but it’s just a matter of hanging on and doing your best.”
