Björn Jansson, Project manager, Strategic investment projects

Why did you choose to work at SSAB?

“I graduated with a degree in mining engineering in the middle of the steel crisis, which was when SSAB was formed. In 1982, I was asked if I was interested in working at SSAB. The decision was easy and I’ve never regretted it. SSAB had just completed the Strip 82 investment and was on the cutting edge.”

What is your educational background?

“I studied mining engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology, KTH.”

What do you think of your development at SSAB so far?

“Over the years I’ve worked with process, quality, and development issues and for a long time, I was head of Coating and painting. Since 2008 I’ve worked with strategic projects, specifically, the future SSAB.”

How do you see your future at SSAB?

“I hope I will get to continue to have a voice in the future of SSAB in my current role or a different one.”
